Breeze Cutter Brad Scott has been a pillar of both passion and talent for the Breeze over the past three seasons, and he’s only one year into his latest 3-year contract. Here are some of his highlights from the 2016 season.
A youth Karate team from Uzbekistan and their instructors were the most recent beneficiary of a DC Breeze Ultimate clinic through the U.S. Department of State’s SportsUnited program. Breeze players Brad Scott and Matt Kerrigan led the clinic for this group of talented young martial artists in this latest installment of our ongoing international clinic series.

For the fifth consecutive year, local Washington, DC players will lead an Ultimate Frisbee clinic in Panama City, Panama. Breeze captain Rowan McDonnell and Virginia High School Coach of the Year Cody Johnston will coach almost 200 youth participants during a two-week clinic that culminates with the start of Panama City’s summer league. A group of women’s soccer coaches from Tajikistan visited the DC area in December, and once again the Breeze coordinated with the U.S. State Department to add Ultimate to their busy schedule.
After a breakout first season, John Agan will rejoin the DC Breeze in 2017. Agan reliably progressed the disc as a tireless cutter throughout his 151 points on the field, not to mention the 11 goals, 5 assists and 3 blocks he produced.

The AUDL announced today that it will begin regular season interdivisional play in 2017, and the first ever installment will feature the Breeze at Raleigh Flyers in April.
On the last Friday of 2016, the DC area Ultimate community congregated in Chantilly, Virginia for the Northern VA Indoor Ultimate Championships. 14 teams attended, representing all ages and geographic areas: there were multiple teams of High School players from Arlington, a team from Fairfax, a team composed of many University of Maryland alums, and a team with many Baltimore club players.
The Washington Area Frisbee Club (WAFC) is offering a 3-session Indoor “Mini” League for Middle School players this winter. It will consist of 6 teams, and each team will play 3 games during the season. The league is designed for middle school players – 6th, 7th & 8th Graders, boys & girls
