Belarusian Soccer Team Gets Ultimate Experience

Local women players from Scandal, Grit, and Swing Vote combined forces to teach Ultimate to a visiting Belarusian girls’ soccer team last Saturday in Arlington. The event was organized through SportsUnited, the sports diplomacy division of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and coordinated by the DC Breeze.

Molly Roy, Mayra Nava,Victoria Sanchez and Caroline Tornquist (all pictured above) participated, along with Jazmin Moya and Breeze Intern Rachel Hess (in photos below)

All the girls and their coaches went home with some experience, knowledge, and a new appreciation for Ultimate, and each with an official Breeze  disc so they can continue to hone their skills when they return to Belarus. You never know, maybe we’ll see them in the Olympics some day.
