Outlaws Outlast Breeze, 27-22
The Breeze ran into a 2nd determined team in two days Sunday, falling to the Ottawa Outlaws by the same score as Saturday’s loss to Montréal, 27-22. The score was the same, but the game felt very different this time: the Breeze started strong and surged to leads of 5-2, 7-5 and 9-6 before giving up two breaks to tie the game at 9s.
Breeze Fall Short In Montréal
The shorthanded Breeze ran into a focused and determined Montréal squad yesterday afternoon that looked nothing like the team they beat handily last Sunday, falling to the Royal 27-22 this time.
Shorthanded Breeze Head Back To Canada This Weekend
National Team training, leg injury, pink eye… Name the issue, and the Breeze probably have it this weekend. Out of 32 players, only 18 are fit and able to make the 2-game trip to Canada this weekend.
Next Home Game June 4: Breeze vs Toronto
The DC Breeze face Division leaders Toronto Rush in a much anticipated rematch Saturday, June 4, 6:30pm here at Gallaudet University. This game will mark the 3rd and final time that the two teams will meet in the 2016 regular season, and Toronto has come out on top by a mere 1 point in both previous games including one in double overtime. Toronto leads the division with a 6-1 record, and the Breeze are 1/2 game back at 6-2.
Bob Liu hosts throwing clinic
Bob Liu hosted throwing clinic for local women’s club team Grit before the Breeze game versus Montréal on Sunday. The focus of Liu’s coaching talk was achieving disc stability and spin. He discussed the physics of frisbee with the goal of inspiring the players to think more critically about each throw.
