Thanks for everything, Breeze Fans!!! 2016 was a memorable year for the DC Breeze as the team completed its 4th AUDL season in 2nd place, its highest ever finish. Along the way the Breeze went 2-1 in double OT thrillers and earned the first regular season victory ever by a U.S. based team over 4-time defending Division champions Toronto Rush.

AJ Jacoski to Undergo ACL Surgery Today

Alex “AJ” Jacoski will go under the knife today for surgery after an ACL injury last month. Jacoski has played for the Breeze since 2014 and also served as the team’s Strength & Conditioning Coach the past two seasons. He granted us an interview to catch up on his pre-surgery care, his rehabilitation plan, and how the injury has put his Ultimate game in perspective.

2016 Rookie Sensation Monroe Back for ’17

Tyler Monroe, a 2016 rookie, has signed a new contract with the DC Breeze for the 2017 season. One of the squad’s youngest yet most impactful members, Monroe first began playing ultimate in Seattle as a middle schooler and hasn’t put down the disc since. Rowan McDonnell Signs On for 2017

The DC Breeze announced today that defensive cutter Matthew “Rowan” McDonnell will return to the Breeze roster for the 2017 season. Over the course of the 2016 season, McDonnell played an astonishing 336 points and scored 21 goals for the Breeze. He also captained the 2016 squad along with Brad Scott and Nicky Spiva.

WFDF Adds Bolivia, Cambodia, Rwanda & Uruguay

The World Flying Disc Federation has announced four new member associations representing the nations of Bolivia, Cambodia, Rwanda, and Uruguay, as reported yesterday by Around The Rings. WFDF now includes 71 associations in 69 countries overall, in its quest for worldwide presence and a spot in future Olympic Games.

Breeze Players Teach Ultimate To Wilson HS PE Classes

The DC Breeze have been hard at work this off-season hosting a number of clinics around the greater Washington metropolitan area. Last week, Woodrow Wilson High School and Wilson High School Ultimate Coach Dave Ohls hosted Breeze players and staff as Physical Education guest instructors. The volunteers spent three days at Wilson High School teaching Ultimate skills and techniques in a clinic format to six separate P.E. classes.
