Breeze head coach Alex “Dutchy” Ghesquiere has been named head coach of the USA Open national team that will compete in the 2016 WFDF World Ultimate & Guts Championships (WUGC) to be held in London next Summer. Congratulations, Dutchy!
Dutchy has coached the DC Breeze for the past two seasons, leading the team to the AUDL playoffs in 2014, and then exceeding expectations in 2015 with a 7-7 record after many of the 2014 team’s top players were lost to league expansion in Pittsburgh and Raleigh. Alex has led USA teams to two previous world titles: The 2013 World Games, and the 2012 WUGC. He has also coached DC women’s club team Scandal to two consecutive national championships.
