It’s been crazy with 3 one-point games and two double OTs in only five games. Next three games: Philadelphia on the road, NY on the road and then Montréal at home. More one point games for the Breeze? More double OTs?

In Washington, D.C., the Breeze were in danger of painful déjà vu, letting a fourth quarter lead slip away against the New York Empire. After bolting ahead to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter, DC was ahead by multiple scores the entire game until the very end, when the Empire furiously rallied on a 5-0 run, taking the lead at 20-19 in the final minute of regulation.
Down by one with little time left and the stall count rising, DC’s Bob Liu had no choice but to launch a desperate cross-field hammer. As if the disc had eyes, it floated over the outstretched fingers of an Empire defender, finding teammate Matt Kerrigan with less than 10 seconds on the clock. Jeff Wodatch raced to the open space in the end zone, catching the goal with four seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
“Without [Bob] realizing in the moment that we need to attack the end zone, we might not score to force OT,” said DC Captain Rowan McDonnell.…
