UPDATE July 12: The Mayor Is Coming To The Game!
The Breeze secured 2nd place in the 2016 AUDL East, and with that comes the 1st home playoff game in team history. The Breeze will face the New York Empire July 16, 6:30pm at Gallaudet University in a win-or-go-home battle against a team they’ve beaten three times this year, all three times by exactly one goal.
One of those games was decided in regulation, the other two in double overtime. To say these teams are evenly matched is an understatement. Three games. Three points. Last second heroics by both teams, one and then the other depending on the game and which overtime it was. And somehow the Breeze came out on top all three times. But this time the stakes are much higher, because the winner moves on to Toronto July 23rd for a chance to represent the AUDL East at Championship Weekend, while the loser’s season comes to an end.
