The DC Breeze have been hard at work this off-season hosting a number of clinics around the greater Washington metropolitan area.
Earlier this month, Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD hosted Breeze players and staff as Physical Education guest instructors. The volunteers welcomed over 300 students to the world of Ultimate, teaching skills and techniques in a clinic format to seven separate P.E. classes.
It was another successful clinic series in the busy Breeze offseason and follows similar sessions at Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington and Washington-Lee High School in Arlington as the team continues to expose DC area youth to the sport along with the incredible support of DC’s elite Ultimate community.

In addition to receiving instruction from the Breeze staffers Ben Feng (Breeze 2014-2016), Sarah Burden and Leo Pierson (the latter two both play for George Mason University Ultimate teams), the students also enjoyed contributions from 2015 Breezer Chip Cobb, University of Maryland’s Women’s captain Ally McCarthy, and Backhanded Ultimate’s Catherine Reeves.
The Breeze are already working on repeat performances at other area high schools in the upcoming months. Below are a few photos from the clinic.
Ogunbaniwo and co-captain Bosoon Karimi spent the entire day with the classes as well. They were able to recruit over 20 students to their email list about Eleanor Roosevelt’s Ultimate team!
