Women’s Showcase Game Coaches

The DC Breeze are excited to announce the coaches for this Sunday’s Women’s Showcase Game. It’s quite a group!

DMV College All Stars Coaches

Katharine Lindquist
Katharine started playing ultimate at Carleton College and has played for about 8 years. Since moving to DC she has played on two different women’s club teams, most recently for Backhanded Ultimate, including as a captain in 2016. Katharine is in her third year coaching the George Washington Lady Hippos. She also have helped organize girls ultimate clinics in the DC area and loves teaching the sport to newcomers.

 

Shino Yoshen
Shino started playing ultimate in middle school – almost 17 years ago! She has played both mixed and women’s in school and in club. She has played for Scandal for the past 6 seasons, winning club nationals in 2013 and 2014 and competing in international tournaments. Shino also captained Scandal during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Shino currently coaches the American Dirty Ladies (her alma mater), and has also coached clinics in Panama.

 

 

DC Club Young Alums Coaches

Laura Camarata
Laura became involved in ultimate in undergrad at Goucher College in 2003, as a player 2003-2006, on their inaugural women’s team. She played club seasons 2006 with Box, 2007-2010 with Hustlers, 2011 with American Hyperbole, 2012-2015 with Backhanded – captaining in 2015. Laura began coaching Backhanded in 2016, and currently coaches UMBC Shazam.

 

Samantha McClellan
Samantha began playing in 2004 on her open college team at Catholic University. In 2008, she began playing with Scandal, winning club nationals in 2013 and 2014 and competing in international tournaments. In 2015, she played for mixed team Ambiguous Grey and the mixed Team USA beach national team. That same year, Samantha began coaching the newly formed team Grit. In just its second year, Grit finished 3rd place at Regionals in 2016. She also was the assistant coach/offensive coordinator for the DC Current in 2016.
