Breeze Open Tryout Showcases Growing Talent in DC Area

The season winds are picking up as the DC Breeze held its Open Tryouts February 24th at Dunbar High School in downtown Washington, DC. More than 65 players came out in the rainy but warm enough weather for the opportunity to join the Breeze for its sixth year playing in the AUDL. The talent has increased every year at these annual tryouts, and 2018 was absolutely no exception.

BREEZE PODCAST: It’s the first episode of 2018, so who better than head coach Darryl Stanley for host Greg Esser to get into details with about this weekend’s open tryouts and his expectations and skills/talents on his wish lis? The two also discuss the season, and they even open the lid on the brand new equity committee the Breeze are in the final stages of forming.

Brad Scott’s Return from Injury Highlights First Wave of 2018 Breeze Signings

After missing the entire 2017 season and a portion of 2016 due to a hip injury and a torn PCL, cutter Brad Scott will be back in a DC Breeze uniform for the 2018 season. Scott and 10 other key returning players have been signed so far for the upcoming season.

D.C.’s AUDL Game of the Week History: 3 Wins, 3 Losses, 3 OT Thrillers

On Jan. 25, the AUDL announced a new media deal with Stadium Network, extending the league’s Game of the Week network broadcasts for at least another two seasons and greatly expanding the reach of these marquee games. This new partnership will mean far more national exposure for the entire league and likely more opportunities for the Breeze as well. The Breeze have appeared in the AUDL Game of the Week…

AUDL, Stadium Network Announce 2-Year Television Partnership

Today the American Ultimate Disc League announced a two-year deal with Stadium Network to bring live ultimate including a women’s EuroStars tour game across all of Stadium’s digital and televised platforms. The network is available on Verizon FIOS #820 and many over-the-air television stations across the nation, in addition to a large number of free streaming options.

AUDL Championships Return To Madison in 2018

DC Breeze Head Coach Darryl Stanley has agreed to a 2-year contract extension to lead the team through 2019, and U.S. National Team coach Alex “Dutchy” Ghesquiere will continue to serve as the team’s Technical Director.
