Partner Charities and Non-Profits

The Breeze organization is dedicated to providing awareness and fundraising opportunities for non-profit organizations. Here are some of the ones that the Breeze have worked with…

Former DC Breeze captain Glenn Poole will be volunteering this July at Ultimate Peace, a summer camp for disadvantaged youth from Palestinian, Arab Israeli, and Israeli Jewish communities.

With a focus on teamwork, leadership, and personal responsibility, the camp brings together youth who would otherwise never meet due to regional conflict. Currently 14 communities participate in year-round programs: 6 are Arab communities in Israel, 5 are Jewish communities in Israel, and 3 are Palestinian from the West Bank. Of the 300 youth served each year, approximately 25% are Palestinian, 35% Israeli Jews, and 40% Arab Israelis.

Ultimate Peace teaches campers to play ultimate frisbee, helping them learn to resolve disputes through dialogue while building friendships across these divided communities. The camp also provides a positive, educational, multicultural experience that is healthy, enriching, inspiring, and fun for youth from different backgrounds.

The program is supported through tax-deductible donations as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We encourage you to make a donation to support Glenn in promoting peace in the Middle East using the link below:

6/11/17 vs Toronto: Big Brothers Big Sisters
For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the Washington region’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 – 18 years old, in communities across the National Capital Area. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has a stellar record in helping children on a daily basis make healthy choices to stay in school, stay out of trouble and on track toward healthy and productive futures.

5/6/17 vs New York: National Center for Children and Families
The National Center for Children and Families (NCCF) is a 100-year-old nonprofit that works to support the DC Metropolitan region’s most vulnerable families. Nationally accredited, NCCF propels 38,000+ children, youth, and families annually into an improved quality of life through 25 local programs: emergency shelters and transitional housing, therapeutic residential care, foster care and adoption, teen parent services, and community-based prevention services, while relying on community education and training, volunteerism, and advocacy.

The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) is the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and providing people with lymphoma and healthcare professionals with up-to-date information about this type of cancer. LRF’s mission is to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by this disease.
The goal of the LRF is to change the future for everyone whose life has been affected by a lymphoma diagnosis.
