Toronto Rush Visit DC Sunday To Battle for First Place

It all comes down to this (kind of, but not really). During the off-season there were countless expectations for the DC Breeze and the New York Empire to contend with the four-time defending Eastern Division Champions. Until this season, the Toronto Rush had looked nearly unbeatable in the division, and surely unbeatable by any team south of the Canadian border.

Game Preview: Key Home Match-up for Breeze Against Royal

The Breeze are now 3-2 after the loss to the Toronto Rush in Canada last weekend. Returning to Hotchkiss Field, the team will look to continue their impressive 3-0 start on their home turf Saturday. They face the Montréal Royal (2-3), a team only one game behind the Breeze in the standings but three full places back in a tight East Division race. Separating the two teams are New York and Ottawa, both 2-2.

Returning back to division play, the D.C. Breeze needed to find consistency with a tough stretch of the schedule on deck for the team. They had a great opportunity to do so Saturday as they returned home to face the Ottawa Outlaws; a team that has yet to be a threat but always provides solid competition with two 7-7 seasons so far.
