Once again it was another nail-biting finish between the D.C. Breeze and the New York Empire. With a 22-21 victory, it was the fourth consecutive regular season 1-point win by the Breeze over the Empire. The win propels DC (3-1) to sole possession of first place in the East.
Returning back to division play, the D.C. Breeze needed to find consistency with a tough stretch of the schedule on deck for the team. They had a great opportunity to do so Saturday as they returned home to face the Ottawa Outlaws; a team that has yet to be a threat but always provides solid competition with two 7-7 seasons so far.
Matching his career high in goals, Tyler Monroe had yet another stellar performance for the DC Breeze at Hotchkiss Field Saturday night. With seven goals and five assists, Monroe could not be stopped by the visiting Ottawa Outlaws as the Breeze cruised to a 29-24 win.
On Saturday evening the D.C. Breeze will welcome the Ottawa Outlaws to Hotchkiss field for the Breeze’s annual College Night. Coming into the contest, the Breeze (1-1) are looking to rebound after a disappointing 23-21 overtime loss to the Raleigh Flyers last weekend.
The DC Breeze head south for the first time in franchise history this weekend to play their first match ever against the South Division’s Raleigh Flyers, this Saturday night at 7pm ET.
The Breeze started off the 2017 season on a high-note, beating 4-time defending division champions Toronto Rush, 32-21. Known for his highlight reel plays and incredible feats of athleticism, Johnson is a huge addition to the Breeze roster. Multiple times Johnson crashed into ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays for gravity-defying grabs, making him a superstar in the ultimate community.
