Team USA will have a strong Washington, D.C. presence in London this June at the WFDF World Championships thanks to 6 current and 2 former Breeze representatives all heading to London with USA teams.
Jonathan Helton and Alan Kolick will be a part of the men’s Open side led by Breeze head coach Alex Ghesquiere. These two impressed at tryouts held earlier this month in Florida, solidifying their spot on a talented squad. Former Breeze players Tyler DeGirolamo of the AUDL’s Pittsburgh Thunderbirds and Chris Kocher who recently signed for the AUDL East Division’s New York Empire also booked their ticket to London, along with DC Truck Stop Ultimate club team stars Tom Doi and Peter Prial.
Brett Matzuka, Nicky Spiva, and assistant coach Sarah Itoh will represent Team USA as members of the mixed team. Equally as impressive at tryouts, these players will have the opportunity to play with fellow D.C. Scandal star Sandy Jorgensen.
Congratulations also go out to Jenny Fey of Scandal, who will be putting on the USA jersey in London for the women’s team.
