On Sunday, April 9, 2017, the DC Breeze will host their 2017 American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) Season Opener vs Eastern Conference rivals Toronto Rush at Hotchkiss Field, historic Gallaudet University, located at 800 Florida Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002, near the NoMa Gallaudet Metro Station. The Breeze will have a very special guest to toss out the ‘First Disc’. This game will be nationally televised on broadcast cable network Eleven Sports, and will be live-streamed worldwide via the www.audl.tv/ network. To purchase tickets to this game, please visit thedcbreeze.com/tickets.

In the 2016 AUDL Playoffs, the DC Breeze lost a heart-breaking overtime Division Title Game to the Toronto Rush, 21-23, so the DC Breeze are looking for a little payback.

The DC Breeze and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, under the leadership of Director Keith Anderson, have formed a unique partnership to provide a youth ultimate spring league for 10 DPR recreation centers across Washington, DC starting April 23, 2017. This academy will include workshops by several DC Breeze players and weekly games between the centers. Additionally, DPR has added Ultimate to the 2017 summer sports camp programs.

The DC Breeze is an Ultimate Frisbee team and a professional franchise member of the 24 team, American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL). The AUDL has 24 teams located in cities in the United States and in Canada. We are expecting over 700+ Ultimate Frisbee fans, residents, families and friends to attend this 2017 Season Opener.

This event is open to all news media outlets.
