Ultiworld Handicaps 2017 AUDL Championship, Gives Breeze 12-1 Odds

Ultiworld has placed odds on every remaining AUDL team in the quest for the 2017 AUDL Championship. The Breeze come in at 12-1, 7th best odds among the 12 playoff teams. It’s no surprise that Raleigh Flyers and Dallas Roughnecks are tied for most likely to lift the trophy — both are 3-1 favorites despite the fact that only one of them will make it to the Final Four in Montréal August 26-27.

Toronto Rush come in at 5-1, tied with San Francisco Flamethrowers and completing the four teams in the “Championship Contenders” category. The Breeze round out the 2nd tier of “Fringe Contenders” that also includes Jacksonville Cannons (8-1)* and perennial bridesmaids Madison Radicals (10-1). The Breeze’s first playoff opponents (and Championship Weekend hosts) Montréal Royal come in behind the Breeze at 20-1, meaning the odds for East teams fall right into the seedings order (#1 Toronto 5-1, #2 Breeze 12-1, #3 Montréal 20-1). The Rush have made it to Championship Weekend in every year of their existence (2013-2016). But we like our odds this year after taking them to overtime in the Division Final last season, assuming we can get by a very hungry Montréal squad here in DC, Friday Aug 11 (tickets).

*One Down: Jacksonville lost to Dallas last Saturday night after this article was published, so they’re out of contention.
