First place was on the line at Hotchkiss Field on Sunday afternoon. Both teams knew it. Everyone in the stadium knew it. It just didn’t look like it. From the opening pull, the DC Breeze unleashed a dominating onslaught against the tired Toronto Rush.

The Breeze are now 3-2 after the loss to the Toronto Rush in Canada last weekend. Returning to Hotchkiss Field, the team will look to continue their impressive 3-0 start on their home turf Saturday. They face the Montréal Royal (2-3), a team only one game behind the Breeze in the standings but three full places back in a tight East Division race. Things did not go well for the DC Breeze in their first trip north of the border this season. Falling to the Toronto Rush 26-20 for the seventh time in a row on the road, the Breeze still have never solved the division champs in Toronto and have dropped to second place in the AUDL East standings.
