2017 Breeze Season Opener – Press Release

On Sunday, April 9, 2017, the DC Breeze will host their 2017 American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) Season Opener vs Eastern Conference rivals Toronto Rush at Hotchkiss Field, historic Gallaudet University. The Breeze will have a very special guest to toss out the ‘First Disc’. This game will be nationally televised on broadcast cable network Eleven Sports, and will be live-streamed worldwide via the www.audl.tv/ network. AUDL Announces Broadcast Cable Partnership

The AUDL announced a new media partnership this morning that will put league’s games live on broadcast cable television for the first time. Eleven Sports Network will air all 18 AUDL Game of the Week broadcasts—13 regular season and 5 playoff games—on their cable channel beginning with the Breeze-Toronto game this Sunday.

Breeze Finalize Roster with 14 New Signees

The Breeze completed their 2017 extended roster with the announcement of 14 additional players today. It’s a mix of young and veteran talent including one 18-year old still in high school (Malks) and two who return to the Breeze after very successful 2014 campaigns followed by a 2-year hiatus (Solis and Nam).

Ultiworld Releases AUDL ‘Streamability Rankings’

Ultiworld released its inaugural “Streamability Rankings” yesterday, a subjective assessment and subsequent ranking of the interest and watchability of all 24 AUDL teams based on categories such as chance of playoffs, chance of close games, cool factor, and star power. Ultiworld selected resurgent home town heroes New York Empire #1. Here in DC we’re #6 in the AUDL Power Rankings, but #3 in Charlie’s heart.

AUDL Preseason Power Rankings

The first AUDL Power Rankings of 2017 were released yesterday, with little change at the top from last season’s final rankings and a log jam officially declared at the top of the East Division. The rankings are led by #1 Dallas and #2 San Francisco, the latter back in front of Madison thanks to all the new signings after falling to 3rd at the end of 2016. The Breeze find themselves at #6.

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser To Attend Breeze 2017 Opener

District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser has made her plans to attend our 2017 Home Opener! Following up her DC Breeze Welcome Letter last season and appearance at our July 16, 2016 playoff game when the Mayor was given a #51 jersey, she has made plans to come to our Sunday, April 9 game to address the crowd and throw out the ceremonial first pull before the 2pm start.
