BioClub Ultimate: Swing Vote (2014, 2015, 2016), TruckStop (2015) Joe began playing competitive ultimate in 8th grade, and then continued to play all 4 years at Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA. In his senior year he helped lead his team to a Virginia State Championship. Joe has also played for the U-19 mixed team Swing Vote, and won two youth National Championships with them over his three years with the program. In addition, he played with the USA U-20 team, winning a gold medal in 2016. Freund now plays for Virginia Tech Burn, and helped carry them to their first appearance at the National College Championships in his just-completed sophomore year. Continuing to be recognized by USAUltimate, Fruend made the Team USA U-24 Mixed roster for the 2018 world championships.
