Ben Feng will hang up his cleats for good this winter and retire from the DC Breeze as a player. He announced today that he will use his retirement to focus on youth, women’s and mixed development with an emphasis on gender equity, and has accepted a position with the team as its new Youth and Gender Equity Coordinator.
Breeze handler Alan Kolick broke his arm while playing for his club team DC Truck Stop at the USAU Club National Championships in Rockford, IL over the weekend.
Matthew “Rowan” McDonnell took the team prize as Most Underrated Player for the Breeze in 2016, according to the AUDL. We don’t think he would come close to winning that prize if the vote took place in DC, given that he’s one of the team’s most recognized and acknowledged players throughout the DC Ultimate community.
After a perfect regular season, the Dallas Roughnecks won the AUDL Championship with a 33-27 victory over the Seattle Cascades. On August 6, the ultimate teams from Dallas, Toronto, Madison and Seattle competed in the AUDL Championship weekend at Breese Stevens Field in Madison, Wisconsin.
