The DC Breeze pulled away in the final minutes to beat the New York Empire yesterday, 28-25. The Empire (2-4) went on a 5-1 run late in the 3rd quarter to overcome a 19-15 deficit and tie the game at 21, but the Breeze (5-2) found another level of effort from that point and would not give up another break in the game.
Here we go again. It’s the D.C. Breeze vs the New York Empire, and this time first place and early control of the East Division is on the line.

The latest AUDL Tuesday Toss released yesterday is chock full of offseason moves and signings… Perhaps most notably is the news that Beau Kittredge and Cassidy Rasmussen have left AUDL Champions Dallas Roughnecks and return to the Bay Area to play for the San Francisco Flamethrowers.

Five players from the 2016 Breeze roster were named to the USA’s national beach teams for the upcoming WFDF World Championships of Beach Ultimate next June in Royan, France. Three members of DC’s elite women’s club team Scandal were also named to teams, including Breeze assistant coach Sarah Itoh.
Markham Shofner, who first signed with the DC Breeze in 2016, will begin the second half of his 2-year contract next April. The 27-year- old handler from Nashville certainly earned his Breeze stripes during his first season with the team, and made his presence well known on the field.
