Trying to watch some of our fellow DC ultimate players CRUSH Natties this year? We have two teams, Scandal and Truck, reppin’ the DMV and looking to take home the ‘ship! The Washington Area Frisbee Club (WAFC) has reserved the upper level at Breeze partner restaurant Big Board starting at noon (mixed finals)! Georgetown University’s Women’s Ultimate Team is excited to announce our 2017 Angel Tree Book Dive Tournament!  This is our program’s 15th annual one-day fundraising tournament and charity book drive.  Each year we raise crucial funds for our team to continue to play our beloved sport and we collect hundreds of book donations to be distributed to DC area charities!

*** The Spirit Award winners at the tournament will also win free passes to The Breeze 2018 Opening Day game! ***

Top Teams Converge in Delaware This Weekend for Shot At Club Nationals

The 2017 USA Ultimate Mid-Atlantic Club Regionals begin tomorrow morning in Milford, Delaware with coveted spots at October’s USAU Club Nationals on the line. All three divisions — Women’s, Mixed, and Men’s — are loaded with strong DC/Baltimore area teams, some names familiar and some new. To most players’ delight, Nationals will return to Florida for the first time in five years after being held there every year for a decade through 2012. The 2017 National Championships will take place in Sarasota October 19-22, while San Diego was selected as the host city for the 2018 and 2019 tournaments.

David Bloodgood — DC’s 2017 Steel Spirit Award Winner

  During a season in which consistency from week-to-week was one of the biggest issues for the DC Breeze, one player was a permanent fixture on the roster. AUDL Rookie David Bloodgood has been awarded as the Breeze’s only recipient of the AUDL’s Steel Spirit Award for the 2017 season for appearing in every regular season game.

San Francisco Wins 2017 AUDL Championship

The San Francisco Flamethrowers are the 2017 AUDL Champions after outlasting the Toronto Rush, 30-29 in an extremely hard-fought title game yesterday afternoon in Montréal. The game was tight throughout and well played by both sides in front of a boisterous, pro-Toronto / pro-Canada crowd despite the well-documented rivalry shared between the two Canadian cities. It certainly didn’t hurt matters that almost half of the Rush players donned vintage Montréal Expos apparel for the national anthems.
