The Breeze finished their two-game road trip on a high note today with a last-minute victory over the Rochester Dragons, 26-25. A Jon Pressimone D followed quickly by Dan Selwyn’s throw for a Brad Scott goal gave the Breeze the lead, then Andrew Allen sealed the victory with a huge D before the Breeze ran out the last few seconds to clinch it.
The Eastern Division leading Toronto Rush overcame the DC Breeze tonight in Toronto, 33-21. DC showed far more grit and determination in the den of last year’s AUDL finalists than in their Game 1 performance at home, but in the end the Rush emerged with a victory that was never really in question after they got off to a multi-goal lead to open the contest. Road games are always tough…

Our Saturday evening began with some fantastic pre-game festivities — a very happening youth clinic including Cub Scouts from around the region, and lots of good merch, food and drink in our concession area as you’ll see above. The DC Breeze beat the Phoenix in overtime Saturday evening, 30-29 as the sun set in Philadelphia. It was an intense affair with neither side gaining more than a 2-point advantage the entire game, and then the Breeze overcame a 2-goal deficit in overtime to emerge with the victory. The Breeze improved to 2-2 while the Phoenix fell to 0-4 with the heartbreaking loss.

Here are the highlights from the weekend’s game against Royal de Montréal. Great game, exciting to the end… We had a lot of chances along the way, made one or two too few of them, 21-20 Montréal.
Montréal’s huge upset over Toronto last weekend has definitely moved the needle… The AUDL community now only give us a 30.37% chance of winning Sunday. We intend to prove the majority wrong, just like we did against Ottawa!
