Student leaders at several Fairfax County high schools launched a petition this week in an effort to get Ultimate recognized as an official club sport in Fairfax County Public Schools. A similar initiative succeeded in Arlington County last year.

Make Ultimate Frisbee a Club Sport in Fairfax County
The Washington Area Frisbee Club (WAFC) is offering a 3-session Indoor “Mini” League for Middle School players this winter. It will consist of 6 teams, and each team will play 3 games during the season. The league is designed for middle school players – 6th, 7th & 8th Graders, boys & girls
Frederick Area Ultimate hosted their annual Halloween Hat Tourney and Youth Clinic last Saturday in Frederick, MD, and the Breeze were out in force.
DC Breeze players and staff, along with Kelly Ross of elite DC mixed team Ambiguous Grey, spent two days at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA teaching Ultimate skills and techniques in clinics for each of the six 9th grade P.E. classes.
The 5th and final round of the Breeze/WAFC Middle School Clinic Series took place this past Sunday at Montgomery Hills in Silver Spring, MD. Overall it was fantastic series with a lot of passionate and talented kids, upwards of 150 in all.
Breeze player and team Strength and Conditioning Coach Alex “AJ” Jacoski ordered up a bluebird, 70 degree weekend for the Ocean City Beach Classic (OCBC) October 15-16th. With 30 teams in attendance, the waterfront at Ocean City was buzzing with players from as far afield as Oneonta and Long Island, NY, and south to Virginia Beach. Round 2 of the 5-round Breeze/WAFC Middle School Clinic Series took place last Sunday at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington. Following a terrific first evening September 18 with 40 kids in attendance, Round 2 surpassed the opening night with almost 60 middle schoolers participating in the 2-hour session.
