The DC Breeze hosted a clinic Saturday to teach ultimate to a group of young women visiting D.C. as part of a two-week trip to the U.S. through the State Department’s SportsUnited program, which brings groups of athletes and coaches to the U.S. to experience American society, culture, and values within the context of sports.

For the fifth consecutive year, local Washington, DC players will lead an Ultimate Frisbee clinic in Panama City, Panama. A group of women’s soccer coaches from Tajikistan visited the DC area in December, and once again the Breeze coordinated with the U.S. State Department to add Ultimate to their busy schedule.

An ambitious and talented group of young women from Tunisia were the international visitors this time around, and we had a blast teaching them ultimate at HB Woodlawn in Arlington.

DC Breeze players and staff, along with Kelly Ross of elite DC mixed team Ambiguous Grey, spent two days at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA teaching Ultimate skills and techniques in clinics for each of the six 9th grade P.E. classes.
The 5th and final round of the Breeze/WAFC Middle School Clinic Series took place this past Sunday at Montgomery Hills in Silver Spring, MD. Overall it was fantastic series with a lot of passionate and talented kids, upwards of 150 in all.
Round 2 of the 5-round Breeze/WAFC Middle School Clinic Series took place last Sunday at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington. Following a terrific first evening September 18 with 40 kids in attendance, Round 2 surpassed the opening night with almost 60 middle schoolers participating in the 2-hour session.
$5 clinic includes 2016 Breeze disc and a ticket to Breeze Opening Day 2017.
The DC Breeze and WAFC have partnered with YULA and elite players from the area’s best club teams to create a Middle School Clinic Series this Fall. Coaching instruction at the clinics will be performed by pros and other elite male and female players from around the region in the first series of its kind for the DC area.
