2016 Roster

Highly regarded DC Area players Brian Marshall and Tom Doi have signed with the Breeze for the 2016 season. Both players originally hail from nearby Maryland suburbs and are regular starting Cutters on the area’s top men’s club team Truck Stop. Both players will suit up for the Breeze for the first time this year.

“Props to Don and Dutchy for pulling together a great looking roster. I am excited to develop my skills with some of the best guys in the game and see how far we can get in the league,” said Marshall, who attended college at Elon University.

Doi started his Ultimate career at Green Mountain College and then played in New Zealand before returning to the area to play for Baltimore’s top club team Medicine Men and, eventually, Truck Stop. He was recently named to the USA Men’s team for the Ultimate world championships in London this June, where he’ll play for head coach Dutchy alongside fellow Breeze players Alan Kolick and Jonathan Helton. [Also joining him in London will be three Breeze representatives on the USA Mixed Team: Sarah Itoh, Brett Matzuka, and Nicky Spiva.]

“I am very excited to be playing with the Breeze this year,” Doi announced. “Dutchy and Don have put together an amazingly talented group of players, and I look forward to being part of the team.”

In all, 21 of the 28 roster spots have now been filled in advance of the next two weekends’ invite-only final tryout combines. All the dust should be settled by mid-March.
